Dysautonomia International this year invited author Ilana Jacqueline to speak on the topic of managing a career while dealing with the obstacles of autonomic dysfunction. The speech was given during their annual conference.
The conference took place June 22-24, 2018 and offered an amazing weekend of educational seminars, engaging speakers, social events and dysautonomia advocacy training. With over 400 guests, this is the largest conference on autonomic disorders that brings together patients, caregivers, researchers, physicians, industry representatives, non-profit leaders and government policy makers.
Her topic, “Chronically Capable: Managing a Career with Dysautonomia” discussed personal value, overcoming shame, accommodations in the workplace, and tools for telecommuting patients.
Ilana also participated in a book signing during the conference and did a Q&A with patients and their families.
